If you’ve spent a summer in Arizona, you know it’s not just “a little warm,” it’s three months of serious, relentless heat. Finding things to do when it’s 110 degrees outside can start to feel like a part-time job.
That’s why we decided to share our top five ways to beat the summer heat in the Valley. These are our go-to activities for making the most of the season, no matter how high the temperature climbs.
1. Water Parks. Arizona is home to some fantastic water parks where you can splash around and cool off. Waterslides, lazy rivers, wave pools, and even a brand-new surf simulation spot called Cannon Beach in Mesa, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’ve got little ones, teens, or just want to feel like a kid again, these parks make summer fun.
2. Indoor Gaming. When it’s just too hot to be outside, indoor gaming spots save the day. Places like Main Event, Dave & Buster’s, and Fat Cats are filled with arcade games, laser tag, obstacle courses, and billiards. Everything is fully air-conditioned, and it’s the kind of place where parents can relax while kids burn off energy.
3. Escape Rooms and Go Kart Racing. For adults seeking a bit of adventure, escape rooms are a fantastic option. We recently tried a game show battle room, and it was a blast playing classic TV games with friends. If you’re looking for more excitement, don’t miss out on indoor go-kart racing, like Andretti’s or Octane. These activities add an extra thrill to your summer activities.
4. Trampoline Parks and Rock Climbing Gyms. It’s tough to stay active in the summer unless you’re out before sunrise, so we’re grateful for all the indoor trampoline parks and rock climbing gyms. These are perfect for families who want to keep moving without risking heatstroke. And let’s be honest: bouncing on trampolines is a mood booster at any age.
5. Movie Theaters. Nothing beats the classic movie theater when it comes to escaping the heat. Summer blockbusters, reclining seats, adult beverages, snacks delivered to your chair—what’s not to love? The air conditioning is so strong that we usually bring a blanket. This is our personal go-to for date nights, family outings, and those days when we just need a break from the sun.
To tie that in, we’re hosting our client appreciation event this Sunday. We rent out a movie theater every year, and this year we’re going to watch Freakier Friday, which is family-friendly, funny, and a great excuse to catch up with you all in person.
We look forward to this event every year and hope for a great turnout. Our preferred lender, Reagan Wickman from BKC Mortgage, is helping us out, and we’ll have some snacks and drinks for you to enjoy during the movie, all while staying cool!
So that’s our not-so-secret list of how we manage to actually enjoy Arizona summers. Maybe you’ll discover a new favorite, or maybe you’re already a pro at summer survival; either way, we hope to see you at the movies or out enjoying one of these spots.
